AI tools / creator platforms

CatCaster

Self-serve SaaS for solopreneurs and micro-businesses

Problem and goal

Problem: Solo founders and creators must post across many platforms but juggle three paid tools (scheduler, AI writer, DM bot), lose hours reformatting, and let engagement die without capturing leads.

Goal: One AI agent that writes in the user’s voice, publishes everywhere, and converts comments into leads, priced below the stack it replaces.

Primary user: solo founder growing through a personal brand. Secondary: expert creators/consultants, DM sellers, small agencies, API builders.

Non-goals: enterprise social listening, large-team approval workflows, paid ads management.

Solution

One AI agent writes in the user’s voice, publishes across all channels, and converts comments into leads—priced below the stack it replaces.

Business model

Freemium SaaS subscription. A free tier drives acquisition; paid tiers unlock unlimited posting, more AI quota, and lead capture. Yearly billing saves 17%.

Tier Price / mo Who it’s for Upgrade trigger
Free $0 Trial users testing the engine Hits 30 posts or 3 channels
Solo $24 One brand, consistent posting Needs analytics, best-time AI, or a second brand
Pro (anchor) $59 Founders running personal + startup brands Wants to sell through DMs or manage clients
Studio $129 DM sellers, small agencies Top tier

Revenue levers

  • Stack consolidation pricing: Pro at $59 is anchored against ~$75/mo for Buffer + ChatGPT Plus + ManyChat.
  • Usage-metered quotas: AI text, images, video and MCP publishes per month scale by tier, protecting margin on inference costs.
  • Spaces: multi-brand isolation (1 / 3 / 10) pushes founders and agencies up-tier.
  • Lead funnels as the premium hook: comment-to-DM and lead export are Studio-only, tying price to revenue the user earns.
  • Early-adopter lock-in: first 200 members get 50% off for life, trading margin for retention and testimonials.

Key cost drivers: LLM and image/video generation, platform API maintenance, media storage.

Platforms

Social channels (all via official APIs; no scraping or unofficial logins)

Channel Primary format Main use case
LinkedIn Text posts, carousels B2B thought leadership, founder brand
X (Twitter) Short posts, threads Build-in-public, audience growth
Instagram Feed, Reels, DMs Visual brand, comment-to-DM funnels
TikTok Short video Reach and discovery
YouTube Shorts Short video Repurposed clips, evergreen reach
Threads Short posts Cross-post from X/Instagram
Pinterest Pins Evergreen traffic

The marketing claims 8 platforms; only 7 are listed. Confirm the eighth (likely Facebook, which appears in the footer).

Access surfaces

  • Web app: dashboard, content calendar, feed/device previews, social inbox, analytics.
  • Public REST API and webhooks: all tiers.
  • Remote MCP server: lets AI agents (e.g. Claude) draft and publish through CatCaster; metered per tier (30 to 1,500 publishes/mo).
  • Mobile: not mentioned on the site; open question.

  • Monetized outcome: leads captured per Studio account.

Open questions

  • Which is the eighth platform (Facebook)?
  • Is a mobile app planned for approvals on the go?
  • Should a lighter lead-funnel tier sit in Pro, given it’s the hero pitch?
  • What gross margin do AI quotas leave at each tier?
  • How to source verified testimonials before exiting beta?
